OPERATING YOUR Ncase PORTABLE SAFE

1. Each LIP LOCK® combination lock is initially set at the factory to “000”.

2. The correct combinations will release the 2 locks which keep your Ncase closed.
Squeeze the top and bottom together at the left & right front corners to release the locks.

3. With the combination entered, lift up the top cover at the front corners to open the case.
----------------------------------------
Three reasons why the top may not open easily with the correct combination entered:
a) Friction between the top and bottom lips of the case caused by the tight fit of the cover.
b) The spring-loaded locking bar does not fully retract and free the top latch, due to:
t e Friction in the lock mechanism caused by insuficient lubrication. OR
h eTension on the locking bar caused by over-filling the case.
----------------------------------------
To open the case:
Squeeze the top & bottom of the case together at the right corner & tap firmly on the lock
Squeeze the top & bottom of the case together at the
left corner & tap firmly on the lock
----------------------------------------
To eliminate problems opening the case:
a) Lubricate the 6 lower lock chambers with 3 in 1 oil (preferably) or WD-40.
b) Locate black areas on the top & botton lips which indicate wear from excessive friction. e- Smooth any black areas with an emory board (cardboard nail file) or sand paper.
c) Turn the case upside down and carefully lubricate the channel in the top lip (now on the e- bottom) with 3 in 1 oil (preferably) or WD-40.
d) Avoid over-filling the case.

4. With the case open, watch the bar in each lock move in & out as the number wheels turn
Entering the correct combination fully retracts the locking bar which releases the top latch.
----------------------------------------
If the locking bar is blocking the 3 lock chambers, the WRONG combination is entered.
Caution:there is ONLY ONE correct combination and 999 wrong ones for each lock
----------------------------------------

5. Reset the combinations: Open the case and locate the adjusting lever on the inside bottom of each lock. Slide the lever to the LEFT and hold it while you spin the number wheels to set a new combination. Release the lever to LOCK the new combination.
----------------------------------------
MAKE SURE the locking bar is retracted (lock OPEN) before resetting the combination. ----------------------------------------

6. Make sure the new combinations retract the locking bars BEFORE you close the case. ----------------------------------------
The case will CLOSE and LOCK with the WRONG combination entered. ----------------------------------------
7. Record the new combinations. Your Ncase will not open without them.

8. The locking bar is retracted (lock OPEN) as long as the correct combination is entered.
Spin
all 6 number wheels several turns to LOCK the case and hide your combination. ----------------------------------------
For your security, it is best to spin the number wheels, even if you keep the case open. ----------------------------------------

9. Secure your Ncase. Loop the cable around or through a sturdy immovable object.
In automobiles, the steel base of passenger seats is one of many secure locations.

10. Free the cable hole by removing the padded divider from the left side of the case.
Remove the black plug from the inside of the cable hole to allow entry of the cable fitting.

11. Insert the shiny end of the cable into the cable hole in the left side of the case.
Insert the locking pin (hitch pin) through the small hole in the shiny end of the cable.
Replace the divider on the left side of the case to protect items inside from the cable.

12. Keep batteries charged by running the thin wire from the charger to the equipment inside the case through the small groove in the lower lip on the left side of the hinge.

13. A padded shoulder strap attaches to a clip on each side to reduce hand & arm fatigue.

14. Caution: When placing your Ncase in aircraft overhead luggage compartments, make sure that it is held securely by the bottom lip of the luggage compartment. Never stack!! ----------------------------------------
The slippery aluminum can cause the case to slide or fall if placed on top of other baggage ----------------------------------------
15. As you travel with it, minor scratches and small dents may appear on the surface of your Ncase. These are normal signs of use and will not impair the case’s function.

16. Over time, cuts or scrapes may appear in the vinyl tube which covers the cable.
Damage to this tube will not affect the strength of the 3/8 inch (9 mm) steel cable inside.

17. Damaged or lost locking (hitch) pins can be easily replaced at most hardware stores.
Bring your cable to the store and ask for the largest hitch pin that fits in the small hole.
